Farnborough Air Show - 20th July 2008

Something that I did not expect or plan to go,
but end up going to Farnborough Air Show..
not many people actually know me deeply,
I like airplanes!!!
I only booked the tickets about 2 weeks before the show..
started the journey a little bit late,
and therefore end up jamming with other late comers near the airfield..

Due to our lateness, I totally missed out the taking off of Airbus A380..
only manage to take 1 photo of it doing some aerobics right after it takes off..
and then narrowly missed it's landing as well..

YES!!! it's 60th Years for Farnborough Air Show,
that's why it attracts more than 80,000 of people,
not including the children (under 12), the organizers, the securities, the police, the medics, the stall hawkers, the cleaners and many people else...

Royal Air Force
Typhoon FGR4

Sea King, similar to Malaysia Army Nuri..

After walking for a very long time from the place we chose to sat,
finally I came to the (only) plane I actually wanted to come for..

Airbus A380-800

Big plane needs little Big Tug..

Tail Number F-WWDD (CO4)
the 4th A380-800 in the world..

the A380's Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) exhaust..

Northrop Grumman
Global Hawk RQ-4
sorry Northrop Grumman, my fault for having the spelling mistake on your product..

this 2 helicopter is actually flying backwards..

The closing ceremony is colored by the famous Royal Air Force,
the Red Arrows..

the Red Arrows doing the "Heart" aerobics..

and when the Red Arrows finish their performs,
everybody starts to head home,
while we stay back to avoid the jam..
and something I had never expected..
the front area of the Airbus had cleared away from the crowds,
and the big tug was attached to the nose wheel..
I quickly ran to the place nearest to the runway,
got a great nice place and stood there.. waiting..

the Airbus A380-800 is roll back to the end of the runway,
and gets ready for take off..
the sound of the engine went to it's maximum power..
and it starts to roll..
being so close the a airplane for the first time..
being so close to experience the take off of the word's largest commercial airline for the first time..
it's AMAZING!!!
but something that I'm disappointed about,
is that US Army F22 Raptor only perform on Monday,
which is one of the five days for the Business view only,
not for the public.. so damn kedekut.. so many planes, only show for the business people and for one day only..
then Boeing 777-300 is nowhere to be found as well..
the next Farnborough Air Show is 2 years from now..
anybody want to go there and looking for a tour guide???

P/s i know the picture quality is very low..
what to do?? brought it about 3 years ago.. it's a Nikon 4200 Coolpix..
4.2 Megapixels only.. cannot ask for more..
so a new higher quality camera added onto my wish list right now..
if looking for a high end camera,
will be Canon EOS 450D or EOS 40D...
or maybe Nikon D60 or D40..
